Overview
The GetName function retrieves the name of an object or entry associated with a Legato object handle.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
string = GetName ( handle hObject );
Parameters
hObject
A handle to a Legato object.
Return Value
Returns a string containing the current name of the Legato object or an empty string on failure. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve error information.
Remarks
Not all objects support this function. For some objects, the name may change depending on the operations performed using the object. An empty string does not necessarily indicate an error, so the GetLastError function must be used to determine if an error occurred.
