Overview
The DeleteStringSegment function removes a specified segment of a source string and returns the adjusted string.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
string = DeleteStringSegment ( string source, int position, int size );
wstring = DeleteStringSegment ( wstring source, int position, int size );
Parameters
source
A source string or wstring.
position
An int containing the zero-based index specifying the starting position within source of the segment to be deleted.
size
An int containing the size of the segment to delete.
Return Value
Returns a string or wstring with the segment deleted or an empty string on failure. The return type is dependent on the source parameter type. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve error information.
Remarks
The sum of the position and size parameters must be within the length of the source string or the DeleteStringSegment function will fail. In this case, the GetLastError function will return ERROR_RANGE.
