DurationToDays Function

Overview

The DurationToDays function parses a formatted duration string and returns the approximate number of days.

Syntax/Parameters

Syntax

float = DurationToDays ( string duration );

Parameters

duration

A string containing an XML/ISO-8601 formatted duration string.

Return Value

Returns an float with the number of days on success or a 0.0 failure. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve error information.

If time components are employed in the source duration, the last error code will be “1” and the last error message will contain the message “Contained Time Components“.

Remarks

DurationToDays uses the same logic as DurationToComponents but converts the calendar items to days. The month and year components are calculated using flat values 30 and 365, respectively.

If the duration is lead with a “-” negative sign, the return days will be negative.
