ODBCFetchColumnName Function

Overview

The ODBCFetchColumnName function returns the name of a specified column with an ODBC Results Object.

Syntax/Parameters

Syntax

string = ODBCFetchColumnName ( handle hResult, int index );

Parameters

hResult

A handle for an ODBC Results Object.

index

A zero-based int specifying the column number.

Return Value

Returns a string with the column name or an empty string on failure. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve error information. The GetLastErrorMessage function may supply additional information.

Remarks

The returned column name cannot be larger than 512 characters. A column may also be called a field or a key.

ODBCFetchColumnNames — Gets the names of all columns in the Result Object.

ODBCFetchAll — Returns all rows and columns from the request as represented by the handle.

ODBCFetchArray — Returns all columns for the current row from the request as represented by the handle.

ODBCFetchData — Returns the data for a specific column of the current row.

ODBCNextRow — Moves internally to the next row within the Result Object.

ODBCQuery — Performs a structured query based on the connection handle and query string.
