Chapter Eight — Data Functions (continued)
Overview
The ODBCGetRowCount function returns the number of rows of data within an ODBC Results Object. Note that the host database must support this function.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
int = ODBCGetRowCount ( handle hResult );
Parameters
data
A handle for an ODBC Results Object.
Return Value
Returns an int containing the number of columns within the result object or -1 on failure. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve error information.
Remarks
The number of rows is tied to the query result and may be less than the size of the table being queried. A value of -1 may also be returned if the ODBCGetRowCount function is not supported by the host.
