Chapter Eleven — SGML Functions (continued)
Overview
The HTMLStyleAddItem function add the current tag as parsed or created in the SGML Object or a text string to the Style Object.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
int = HTMLStyleAddItem ( handle hStyle, [string text] );
Parameters
hStyle
A handle to an HTML Style Object.
text
An optional text string to add to the object.
Return Value
An int containing ERROR_NONE or a formatted error code on failure. Use the GetLastError function to retrieve a formatted error code.
Remarks
If text is not supplied, the function assumes the current element is to be added to the Style Object.
Note that tags cannot be added as text. Also, the test encoding is not adjusted, and, as such, protected characters can be added, which may cause errors when the test is rendered.
An example of adding a tag:
SGMLResetElement(hSGML, HT_FONT);
SGMLSetParameter(hSGML, CP_TEXT_TRANSFORM, PT_KEYWORD |
PK_TEXT_TRANSFORM_UPPERCASE);
HTMLStyleAddItem(hStyle);
An example of adding text:
HTMLStyleAddItem(hStyle, "This is “my” text.");
