TranslateWindowsError Function
Overview
The TranslateWindowsError function will take a Windows error code and translate it into a descriptive string if possible.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
string = TranslateWindowsError ( int error );
Parameters
error
An int containing a Windows error code. The code may be wrapped in error management and class designators (top 4 bits).
Return Value
Returns a string containing the translated error. If the error cannot be translated, a string version of the error code will be returned.
Remarks
The TranslateWindowsError function is based on the Windows SDK, which contains definitions for common error codes numbered 0 to 200. Other Windows error codes may not be translated, and non-Windows error codes will not be translated.
