on_form_validate

Overview

The on_form_validate event is called when the FORM_VALIDATE menu function is invoked.

Syntax/Parameters

int on_form_validate ( ) { ... }

Parameters

(none)

 

Return Value

An int returned as a formatted error code. The error is passed back to the caller.

Remarks

The default action for Forms View is to ignore the request (returns ERROR_FUNCTION_NOT_SUPPORTED).

The hook should perform required data validation and load the a log for display as a tab in the Information View.

To enable the ribbon or menu function, the hook on_menu_init() must return the bit FV_FORM_VALIDATE.

Related Functions

LogCreate — Create a general log object with optional log name and target filename base.

LogDisplay — Displays the specified log as an tab in the Information View window.

on_menu_init — Called anytime the ribbon or a menu must be prepared for display or updated.
