Chapter Twenty-one — EDGARView Integration (continued)
Overview
The EDGARValidateURL function validates a string as complying as an EDGAR archive URL as the URL would be used in an EDGAR HTML submission.
Syntax/Parameters
Syntax
int = EDGARValidateURL ( string data );
Parameters
data
A string containing the target data to test.
Return Value
An int as ERROR_NONE OR’d with the log code of LOG_ERROR or LOG_WARNING or a formatted error code on failure. ERROR_SYNTAX is returned for any URL error that will suspend upon filing. Use the GetLastErrorMessage function to retrieve a detailed text version of the error or warning.
Remarks
Warnings are returned for items that generally do not make sense, like referencing a non-text or non-HTML file (these may file without suspension but should reference a document as opposed to an image or other file).
