ClipboardSetData Function

Overview

The ClipboardSetData sets data as a specified format onto the Windows clipboard via a Clipboard Object.

Syntax/Parameters

Syntax

int = ClipboardSetData ( handle hClipboard, dword format, var data | handle hObject );

Parameters

hClipboard

A handle to a Clipboard Object.

format

A dword specifying a defined clipboard format.

data

A variable of any type. See Remarks below, or,

hObject

A handle to a String Pool or Data Object containing the data to place on the clipboard.

Return Value

Returns an int value as ERROR_NONE or a formatted error code.

Remarks

The ClipboardSetData function places data on the clipboard using a specified format designator. The format can be one of the built in Windows API formats, a defacto standard or a format as created by the ClipboardRegisterFormat function.

The Clipboard Object must first be created using the ClipboardCreate function. Multiple formats can be posted to the clipboard.

ClipboardSetJPG — Sets a JPEG image to the clipboard from a buffer or Data Object.

ClipboardSetPNG — Sets a PNG image to the clipboard from a buffer or Data Object.

ClipboardSetRTF — Sets Rich Text Format (RTF) data to the clipboard from a string.

ClipboardSetUnicode — Sets Unicode text to the clipboard.

PoolCreate — Creates a String Pool Object (SPO) and optionally loads the pool with a string.
