On June 1st, the SEC canceled EDGAR software release 26.2, which was planned for June 15, 2026. Draft EDGAR Filer Manual revisions and draft Technical Specifications related to the release that previously was published on May 15th are no longer relevant and have been removed from the SEC’s site. On May 14th, the United States Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a new report to satisfy requirements detailed in the Financial Data Transparency Act (FDTA). The Act requires the GAO to evaluate the establishment of a Standard Business Reporting-type (SBR) program in the United States and to begin developing shared data standards among financial regulators.
