On December 16th, the SEC adopted amendments to Volume II of the EDGAR System Filer Manual and related rules and forms. EDGAR Release 24.4 was deployed in the EDGAR system on December 16, 2024.
The EDGAR system now supports the updated Variable Insurance Product (VIP) taxonomy. The 2024 Q4 version of the VIP taxonomy provides the elements for tagging disclosures pertaining to the SEC's rulemaking, Registration for Index-Linked Annuities and Registered Market Value Adjustment Annuities; Amendments to Form N-4 for Index-Linked Annuities, Registered Market Value Adjustment Annuities, and Variable Annuities; Other Technical Amendments, using Inline XBRL, a structured, machine-readable data language. For a complete listing of supported standard taxonomies, please visit the Standard Taxonomies webpage on sec.gov. The staff strongly encourages companies to use the most recent version of taxonomy releases for their XBRL filings to benefit from the most current tags related to new accounting standards and other improvements.
The current version of the GoFiler Suite (5.25a) includes support for the EDGAR 24.4 release. We recommend you keep your software up-to-date to receive the latest changes from the SEC.
