On June 30th, the SEC announced that it is amending rules that would require electronic filing or submission of certain forms that must be filed with or submitted to the SEC under the Securities Exchange Act and the rules and regulations under the Exchange Act. The use of a structured, machine-readable data language for electronic filing where appropriate is required for certain disclosures filed or submitted by self-regulatory organizations (SROs) and other entities.
The rulemaking requires the information in Form 19b-4(e) to be publicly posted on an SRO’s website using the current versions of the XML schema and the associated PDF renderer as published on the SEC’s website.
The following guidance and resources were updated on June 30, 2025:
- Technical Specifications (pdf)
- Schema, Renderer, and Sample Report (zip)
- Source (repository)
For further information on the amended rules, please see the Electronic Submission of Certain Materials Under the Securities Act of 1934 final rule.
