The SEC’s latest update to the published CUSIP database contained an internal formatting change that causes additional whitespace in the CUSIP data. This is in turn causing issues when users check CUSIPs using the tools available in Form 13F View. This problem will be resolved in our next update (currently scheduled for April 20). Until then, we are providing the following workaround for users.
If you are using the SEC’s CUSIP list as your CUSIP database:
- Click File > Options > Preferences.
- Click on the Form 13F tab.
- Change the Securities PDF field to “https://www.sec.gov/divisions/investment/13f/13flist2019q4.pdf”. This will set your CUSIP database file to the last published CUSIP list that did not cause errors when imported into the software.
- Click OK to save the changes.
Note that this change must be done every time the software is opened because the software attempts to automatically check for the newest CUSIP list every time it opens. If you have any questions, please contact support.
If you are not using the SEC’s CUSIP list as your CUSIP database, then you do not need to take action at this time.
